Bear Claw
by Brian Lee Guess
It was just an average sleepy Sunday morning at the donut shop when a lone biker came in. He was tall at least 6' 3” bald head with tattoos of flames running down the sides. He was dressed in black leather and faded blue jeans with tattoos covering more skin than was bare. As he walks in a little gray haired lady pulls her purse into her side as she tries not to make eye contact. He walks up and to my astonishment asks “bear claw and chocolate milk please”. About a half hour later the only ones in the shop are me and him. I watch him sit in the corner booth by himself for a while wondering why
The stars sparkle bright
wishing on fallen stars
listening to her breath
she sing "satisfaction"
the moon full and ripe
she wore a yellow dress
shaking from side to side
raven hair
flowing like a brook
raven hair
hovering over eyes of earth
raven hair
long, straight, and proud
raven hair
like a master she strums
the sting of my heart
heartbeat that lasts a lifetime
thanking the heavens for her
never realizing she was a fallen angel
some days I think
I really should just enjoy the ride
reminiscing today of my soul
unconscious memories of transparent history
whispering swills of days and nights gone
visions of you like a conjured netherworld beast rapeing my mind
abandoned with the innocent schoolgirl
haunting not university halls
a Shakespearian tragedy, wrapped in Poe's nightmare
how will it end, will it ever end
however artless, still a unique grace
us with or vices
you have your Jager and Pepsi
I have my self loathing
2 humming birds going 100 MPH without ever moving,
admiring the wondrous vision
slowly dancing to Vandross's words
the book was closed, still I tried to read your mind
on your apartment wall
